Raymond F. Steranko

Raymond F. Steranko, 70, of Port Carbon, died Saturday February 26, 2022,  at his Son’s house surrounded by his family in Schuylkill Haven.

Born in Pottsville, May 28, 1951, He was a son of the late Raymond and Esther (Shunosky) Steranko.

He retired as a Business Agent and Union Representative in the Carpenters Union Headquartered in Oregon.

Ray loved watching college football and basketball, especially Notre Dame Fighting Irish.  Ray always said he bled green.  He loved cooking, the beach, following Nick’s band, traveling and going on cruises with Dolly.  Ray will be there in spirt by his son’s side for all of Nick’s music gigs.

Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Dolly (Prock) Steranko; a son Nicholas Steranko and his wife Molly of Schuylkill Haven; 2 granddaughters, Olivia and Aubrey Steranko   of Schuylkill Haven; a brother Stephen Steranko of  Brigantine, NJ, many close cousins and friends.

As per Ray’s request private services are entrusted to the Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home, St. Clair at the convenience of the family.

Dolly. We are so sorry for your loss. Ray was a kind and wonderful man to be around. We will see him again with Our Risen Lord.

Just talking to Jennifer and heard of Ray’s passing. So sorry for your loss. Jennifer is very distraught and his two grandchildren are sorry too. I hadn’t seen Ray in years. I’ll let the boys know and Jennifer that I sent condolences and wish you all the best in a difficult time. Dean Spicher

Dolly & Nick – I have never met you but I went to school with Ray since first grade. I haven’t seen Ray since I moved away many years ago. He was a great guy and I’m sure he will be missed. Steve
