James  R. Buffington , 70, of 31 S. Morris St., St. Clair, died Wednesday at Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian St. 

 

Born in Pottsville, March 26, 1945, He was a son of Elizabeth (Weismiller) Buffington, Minersville and  the late William H. Buffington.

 

He was a 1963 graduate of Minersville High School.

 

James R. Buffington served in the US Army in Vietnam as a member of 196th Light Infantry Brigade.

 

He was a Owner/Operator at Buffington Repair Shop, St. Clair.

 

He was a member of Disabled American Veterans Post 77 Port Carbon; American Legion Post 719, St. Clair, Joseph C. Cappella Vietnam Veterans Home Association, Schoentown, , and International Ford Retractable Club.

 

He was preceded in death by 2 brothers John and William J. Buffington.

 

Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife Regina I. (Bowers) Buffington of St. Clair; sister Mary Lou Bainbridge and her husband Fred of Minersville; Sisters-In-Law Bernadette and Shelby Buffington. Nieces, Nephews and his faithful dog Bear. 

 

Friends may call from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM Saturday at Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home 110 N. Second St. St. Clair, PA 17970. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hillside SPCA , PO Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901. Burial with military honors will be held at a later date at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
