Anna Mae Hampton, wife of Charles H. Hampton, 103 Valley Hill Road, Ashland, entered into her eternal afterlife Wednesday night at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, surrounded by her family.

Born on April 16, 1936, she was a daughter of Agnes and Michael Romaniscon.

She was raised in Butler Township and attended Butler Township High School, having graduated with the Class of 1953. She also attended Albright Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and Marywood College.

She worked for Schuylkill County Child Development until her retirement in 1996. She then devoted her full time and attention to her family.

Anna Mae lived simply, laughed often, loved generously, cared deeply and spoke kindly to and of every person she ever came into contact with. Her devotion to her family and friends was legendary. Anna Mae was a Past Worthy Matron, Order of Eastern Star Cressona Chapter 367 and very active in the Zion Lutheran Church, Frackville. She was a past acting President of the Women's Auxiliary for Ashland Regional Medical Center and a past President of Lutheran Church Women.

Anna Mae loved gardening in her heart-garden on the family farm and spending time with her entire family, especially her granddaughter Kiersytnn. She enjoyed living a farm lifestyle and especially loved the beauty and solitude of the mountains surrounding the Pine Creek Valley in Lycoming and Clinton Counties.

Anna Mae Hampton was preceded in death by her sisters Agnes and Andrea; her father, Michael Romaniscon; and her grandson, Noah Hampton.

Anna Mae is survived by her husband of 57 years, Charles "Chick" Hampton; her mother, Agnes Romaniscon; her daughter, Carole Mishlanie, wife of Raymond Mishlanie, Ringtown; her sons, attorney Lloyd R. Hampton and his wife, Deborah Hampton, David M. Hampton and attorney John M. Hampton and his fiancee, Cindy Marrone; and her beloved granddaughter Kierstynn, all of Gordon; and her brother, Steven Romaniscon, Hobe Sound, Fla..

Anna Mae will always be remembered as a completely kind woman who was totally and unconditionally devoted to her beloved family, her Church and the Lord our God.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday from Zion Lutheran Church, 48 S. Nice St., Frackville, with the Rev Oliver Brown officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at the church. The Order of Eastern Star will have a service Sunday night. Nice-Hart Funeral Home Inc., Frackville, is in charge of arrangements.

To the Family of Anna Mae Hampton,  I have know Anna Mae for a long time.  We have served as Worthy Matrons in Frackville Chapter way back when.  She was a kind and loving person and she will be truly missed.  Ous thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
