Anna  Wargo , 87, formerly St. Clair, died Thursday at Schuylkill Center.

Born in St. Clair, November 28, 1925, She was a daughter of the late Charles and Anna  Klizas.

Anna was a 1943 graduate of St. Clair High School.  During WWII she worked in the Dental Office of Indiantown Gap.  She worked at Sears in the Credit Department for 16 years and the Department of Public Welfare for 16 years and retired in 1988.

She was a member of St. Clare of Assisi and the former St. Casimir Roman Catholic Churches, St. Clair.  She was a member of the Lithuanian Women's Club since 1953, where she served as President, Secretary and Treasurer; She served as the final President for the Rosary Confraternity, an office she held several times as a member since 1952; She was a Perogie worker and a choir member.

Anna was a founding member of Knights of Lithuania Council 144, where she held the offices of President several times, Secretary, Treasurer, PR Chairman and Cultural Chairman.  She served on the National Supreme Council since 1978.  For her work on the National Council, she was awarded the Honorary Degree, the highest award in the Knights of Lithuania.  She was President of the St. Casimir Guild of the Ponitifical Lithuanian College of Rome for 23 years until 2007.

She was a member of the St. Clair Community and Historical Society.

She was preceded in death by her son Gerald Wargo. 2 brothers Albert Klizas, Charles Klizas; 2 sisters Helen Haluska & Mary Hart.

Surviving are 2 grandsons Nathanial Wargo and his wife Amanda; Josh Wargo and his wife Tania; 2 great-grandsons Lucas and Trent Wargo; brother John Klizas and his wife Palma; Nieces & Nephews Rosellen Frantz, Betty Mealey, Jim, Jonathan, Stephen and Mark Klizas, Susan Onufer, Linda Horvath and Jayne Danco.

Memorial Mass will be held at 11:30 AM Tuesday from St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 250 E. Hancock St. St. Clair, PA 17970 with Msgr. William F. Glosser officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM Tuesday at the Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home 110 N. Second St. St. Clair. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Clare of Assisi Memorial Fund at the above address.  Interment will be held at St. Casimir Cemetery, Port Carbon.

May you rest in peace Anna,I had many good time with Anna both making Pierogies and making our Easter Candy. We also had alot of fun at our Rosary Confraternity and Anna was a wonderful president and I will always have wonderful memories of being there with her at Saint Casimir Church
