William J. Connors , 84, of  Pottsville, formerly of St. Clair died Friday January 27, 2017 at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.

Born in St. Clair, June 15, 1932, He was a son of the late John and Anna (Jacoby) Connors.

William J. Connors served in the Navy as a Radar man during the Korean War.

He was a retired Electrician working out of IBEW Local 743 Reading.

Bill was a graduate of St. Clair high School. He was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, St. Clair, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, American Legion Post 719, St. Clair. He enjoyed time at Veteran’s organizations in Schuylkill and Tioga Counties. He was a former member of St. Clair Borough Council and Boy Scout Leader St. Clair Troop.

“One More Bill” enjoyed time with friends as a member of the St. Clair Fish & Game.  He was a lifetime member of the Took-A-Shoot Club, Morris, PA. He gave his family a love of animals and the great outdoors.  Bill enjoyed sharing his love of model trains and fishing with the children.

 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Edward Connors and John Connors of St. Clair and a sister Ann Reber of Kenhorst.

Surviving are his wife of 64 years Jean Kellagher Connors of Pottsville, son John Connors and his wife Cissy of New Brighton; two daughters Sandra Rudy and partner Dennis Gallagher of Halifax; Shawn Bugdanavage and her husband  Walter of Pottsville; two granddaughters Sasha Connors Reese wife of Richard Reese of Pittsburgh and Harley Mills of Pottsville; two great grandchildren Gabbie Fees of Pottsville and Roderick Reese of Pittsburgh; nieces, nephews, cousins, God-children and lifelong friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday  St. Clare of Assisi RC Church  250 East Hancock Street St. Clair, PA 17970.The Rev. Msgr. William F. Glosser  will be officiating. . Friends may call from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM Wednesday at the Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ruth Steinert Memorial SPCA  PO Box 332, Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972. Burial with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville  at 12:30 .
