Christopher R. Shellhammer, 51, of St. Clair, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at LVHN-Cedar Crest, Allentown.
Born in Pottsville on March 29, 1972, he was the son of Robert Shellhammer and the late Catherine (Strauser) Shellhammer.
Chris was a student of the St. Clair School District, graduating from Cardinal Brennan. He proudly worked at Reading Anthracite for 31 years as a Lab Technician. He was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, St. Clair, Cass Township AOH, and a former member of the Rescue Hook and Ladder Fire Company #3. He was the coach and president of the St. Clair Midgets Football for over 20 years and an avid Philadelphia Eagles Fan.
Chris gave in death as he did in life through organ donation.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandparents; Joseph and Margaret Shellhammer.
Surviving are his wife of 27 years Christine (Orzechowski) Shellhammer of St. Clair; two sons, Tristan and Torin Robert Shellhammer of St. Clair; father Robert Shellhammer, and his wife Margaret of St. Clair; mother and father in law Eleanor and Joe Orzechowski of St. Clair; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and godchildren.
Friends may call Monday, November 27, 2023, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home, 110 North Second Street, St. Clair, PA. St. Clair. Please wear St. Clair or football attire in honor of Chris.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, from St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church,250 E Hancock St, St Clair, PA 17970 with Rev. Msgr. William Glosser officiating. Burial will follow in Queen of the Universe Cemetery, St. Clair.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the family to assist with Torin’s education.
