Susan Futchko

Susan Futchko formerly of St. Clair, PA and more recently Tappahannock, VA, passed away on January 6, 2019 at Commonwealth Senior Living in Farnham, VA.

Sue was born in Tuscarora, PA, the fifth of ten children born to the late George and Anna Marko. She was the devoted husband of the late George Futchko who died in 2012.

She was a member of St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, St. Clair. Sue loved singing with the choir at St. Mary’s and taking part in their Christmas and Easter bake sales. Family and friends enjoyed her baked pies, cookies, homemade pierogis and city chicken. It gave Sue immense pleasure to make and share roasting pans full of her tightly rolled bite sized halupkies. Sue retired from Miss Pennsylvania Factory as a seamstress and was a member of ILGWU.

She loved traveling with her husband and visiting with family in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Florida and Virginia

She was preceded in death by her son George (Butch), his wife Anne Marie (Kurtek) Futchko, son Bernard Futchko,; daughter, Carole Sidella and siblings John, Steve, George, Joe, Helen (Schaeffer), Annie(Martin), Betty (Zachwieja).

Sue Is survived by her faithful son Charlie (Mary); two sisters- Irene Loder and Rose Bennett; beloved daughter-in-law Sandi Futchko (Bernie); grandchildren Michael Sidella, Jeff Sidella (Mellisa), Tara Futchko Cooper (Thomas), Shane Futchko, Seth (Ashleigh) Futchko, Travis ((Jessica) Futchko, Jeremy Futchko; eight great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Barbara Kuneiga, Ethel Swartz, Annie Peiffer, Eleanor Yuschock, Dorothy Sternako; longtime friend Martha Futchko; nieces and nephews.

The office of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday January 12, 2019 at St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, Saint Clair, with the Very Rev. Gregory J. Noga officiating. Friends are invited to call from 8:30-9:30A.M. at Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home,110 N. 2nd Street St. Clair. Interment will be at Indiantown Gap Cemetery with her beloved husband, George, at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or Alzheimer’s Association.
