Eleanor Laguna

Eleanor L. Laguna, 88, formerly of St. Clair, entered into God’s Kingdom peacefully Tuesday November 10, 2020, while at residence at The Gardens at York Terrace, Pottsville.

Born in Philadelphia, September 9, 1932, Eleanor was the  daughter of the late Albert Sr. and Anna (Sokitis) Razzis.

Eleanor took great pride in her work as a member of the custodial staff in the St Clair School District from about 1976 to 1988.  From there, she worked in the kitchen for the former Clarion House and to the Oak Hill Inn.

Eleanor was known to her family as Mother, Mom, Bahbah, Mommom and aunt.  She always put family first and provided many wonderful memories for Holidays and Birthdays.  She prepared many of the ethnic foods she learned to cook from her husband’s family, especially what her family loved the most, her halupkies.

Eleanor was very devoted to her Catholic faith and was a member of St.

Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, St. Clair.  She volunteered often for picnics and banquets.

She was preceded in death by her husband Peter  Laguna; daughter Roseann Helman; brother Albert Razzis Jr.

Surviving is a daughter Nada Laguna and her husband Bernard Corby of St. Clair;  2 sons Peter Laguna and his wife Sandy of St. Clair; Daniel Laguna and his wife Trena Duffield of Aurora, CO;  a sister Dorothy Levanovitch of Pottstown; son in law Harold Helman of Minersville; Grandchildren Jamie Laguna, Tara Helman, Jodi Helman and Neil Laguna Great Grandchildren Abriana Chua daughter of Jamie, Aiden Mataka son of Tara and Emma Laguna daughter of Neil; Nieces and Nephews.

Divine Liturgy will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday from St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 105 North Morris Street  St. Clair 17970 with Monsignor Myron Grabowski  officiating.   Friends may call from

8:45-10:45 AM Tuesday  at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic School 515 N Front St Minersville PA 17954

Burial will be in St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, St. Clair

Laguna Family
I’m sorry to hear of the loss of your mother . She was a very caring and heart filled woman . A respected neighbor a loving mother a great person . Many times she seemed to enjoy sharing her goodies with our family member that still lives in the neighborhood but for her I think she was looking out for him making sure he was eating good and we thank her for that.
