William “Rip” Rowan

William "Rip" Rowan, 90, of 1055 Cetronia Rd. Apt J8, Breinigsville, died Saturday at his Residence.

Born in Mt. Pleasant, February 26, 1928, He was a son of the late William and Thelma (Lord) Rowan.

William John Rowan served in the US Army during the Korean War.

He was a retired District Manager at PA Lottery.

He was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, St. Clair.

He led or participated in several community and charitable groups including the St. Clair Democrat Party (Vice Chairman), The St. Clair Bicentennial Committee, The St. Clair Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, The St. Clair Area School District Board of Directors and The St. Clair Zoning Board.

Surviving are his wife of 63 years Margaret (Stefonick) Rowan; daughter Elaine Bogage and her husband David of Georgia; son Matthew Rowan and his wife Paz of Macungie; 3 granddaughters Amanda Rosario and her husband Josue of Allentown; Kathleen Rowan of Tampa, FL; Angelina Rowan of NYC; 2 Grandsons, Andrew Bogage of Dallas,TX and Joseph Rowan of University Park, PA.  Great -grandchildren Julian, Fiona and Luke Carrer; Gabriel and Sophia Rosario; Plus Sister in-law Elizabeth Filer St. Clair, and many Nieces and Nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday from St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 250 E. Hancock St. St. Clair with Msgr William Glosser  officiating.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's' Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148.

Burial with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville on Thursday at 2

Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home, 110 N. 2 nd Street St. Clair, PA 17970 is in charge of arrangements.
