William E. Lecher Sr., 90, of 2100 West Norwegian Street, Pottsville, died Friday March 6, 2015 at Rest Haven Nursing Home, Schuylkill Haven.
Born in Pottsville, August 22, 1924, He was a son of the late Theodore and Genevieve (Holley) Lecher.
William worked at Aetna Steel of Pottsville as a purchasing Agent and retired from Tuscarora Coal Company of Brockton as Weigh Master.
He was a member of former Mary Queen of Peace Church, Pottsville.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Rebecca (Mills) Lecher on January 20, 2015, a sister Jean Whalen and two brothers, Robert Lecher and Edgar "Joe" Lecher.
Surviving are 2 sons William Lecher Jr. and his wife Cheryl of Pottsville; David Lecher and his wife Jacqueline of Minersville; 2 brothers James Lecher of Schuylkill Haven; Thomas Lecher of Pottsville; sister Dorothy Ann Lecher of Pottsville;5 Grandchildren,6 Great- Grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 9:30 AM Friday from Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home, 110 North Second Street St. Clair. The Rev. Christopher Zelonis will be officiating. . Friends may call from 8:30 AM – 9:30 AM Friday at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family to help defray funeral expenses.. Burial with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
