Michael Laurie Sr.

Michael  Laurie Sr., 100, formerly of St. Clair died Friday at Rosewood Nursing Home, Schuylkill Haven PA.

Born in St. Clair, April 28, 1918, He was a son of the late Charles  and Mary (Kalinich) Laurie.

Michael  served in the US Army during WWII.

He was a retired Miner  having worked at the Repplier,  Buck Run and Salem Hill Collieries.

He was a member of St. Michael Orthodox Church, St. Clair.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Helen (Metrick) Laurie in 1992, 4 sisters Margaret Kapusta, Mary Gursky,  Elsie Stencovage, Anna Sekela, 1 brother Charles Laurie.

Surviving are son Michael Laurie  of  Schuylkill Haven, daughter Patricia Hoffman Hepner and her husband Ned of Schuylkill Haven; brother John Laurie of St. Clair; 2 granddaughters, 4 great- grandsons, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services  will be held at 10:30 AM – Wednesday from St. Michael's Orthodox Church , 109 North Nichols Street St. Clair. The Rev. Jeff Zias  will be officiating. Friends may call from 8:30 AM – 9:45 AM Wednesday at Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home 110 North 2nd Street, St. Clair, PA 17970 In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Michael's Memorial Fund. Burial with military honors will be in St. Michael's Cemetery,  East Norwegian Twp..
