Marian L. Israel , 84, of 24 Draper St., Gilberton, died Friday at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Mahanoy Twp., April 21, 1928, She was a daughter of the late Harry and Helen (Green) Shaner.
She was a graduate of Mahanoy Township High School and a member of Gilberton United Methodist Church, Gilberton.
Marion loved to play bingo and take trips to casino's.
She was preceded in death by her husband Fredrick Israel in 2000, a daughter Diane Pytko; 3 sisters Mary Shaner, Anne Shaner and Jean Curry and 3 brothers Harry, Robert and William Shaner.
Surviving are 2 daughters Darlene Freil and her husband Thomas of Gilberton; Debra Cola and her husband David of Port Carbon; a son Fredrick Israel of Gilberton; 13 Grandchildren; 8 Great Grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday from Gilberton United Methodist Church, 3 Main St. Gilberton, PA 17934 with The Rev. Joseph H. Murton officiating. Friends may call from Noon – 1:00 PM Tuesday at the Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Gilberton United Methodist Church Memorial Fund. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery , Annville.
