Joseph.  Lutzkanin , 77, St. Clair, passed away Wednesday at Rosewood Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Schuylkill Haven PA.

Born in Pottsville, May 4, 1938, He was a son of the late Joseph and Catherine (Cherkis) Lutzkanin.

He was a graduate of St. Clair High School and Lincoln Technical School.

He retired as a Structural Steel Welder at Ebinger Iron Works, Schuylkill Haven.

He was a member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, St. Clair and Iron Workers of American.  Joe was an avid hunter, fly fisher and trap shooter.  He was a member of the St. Clair Fish & Game; Arnots Gun Glub; Seltzer Gun Club and Trap Shooting Team.  He enjoyed the challenge of both summer and winter trap shooting leagues.

He was preceded in death by 2 sisters Shirley Palko and Mary Daubert.

Surviving are his wife Elaine (Donaldson) Lutzkanin of St. Clair, 2 brothers John Lutzkanin of Pottsville, and David Lutzkanin and his wife Geraldine of St. Clair.

Divine Liturgy will be held at 8:00 AM  Monday from St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 105 North Morris Street  St. Clair. The Rev. Monsignor Myron Grabowski  will be officiating. . Friends may call from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Sunday and 7:00 -7:30 AM Monday  at Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home, 110 North Second Street, St. Clair. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association , 3544 N. Progress Ave, Harrisburg, PA 17110. Burial with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Hanover Twp .

Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home, St. Clair, is in charge of arrangements.
