Joseph J. Balulis

Joseph J. Balulis, 64, of 254 E. Savory St., Palo Alto, died Friday at home.

Born in Pottsville, Oct. 12, 1949, he was a son of the late George and Mary Jalonski Balulis.

He was a 1967 graduate from Saint Clair High School and was the owner of Joe Balulis Garage, Palo Alto.

Joe served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.

He was very active with St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, where he was a Eucharistic minister and a member of Saint Clair Fish & Game Association and the Over 50 Softball League in Heckscherville.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, John, William and Jude Balulis.

Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Marie Buchinsky Balulis; two sons, Vincent Balulis and his wife, Janice, Pottsville, and Edward Balulis and his wife, Nicole, Port Carbon; and three grandchildren, Julia, Jillian and Ryan Balulis.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 250 E. Hancock St., Saint Clair, PA 17970, with Monsignor William Glosser officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Clare of Assisi Memorial Fund. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
