James Nelson Knorr Sr., beloved father, grandfather, brother, and father-in-law, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2026, at the age of 68. Born on December 17, 1957, James dedicated many years of his life to working as a laborer before choosing to stay home to raise his two sons, James Jr and Michael. His family was at the heart of everything he did, and he took great pride in being there for his children and loved ones. James was a skilled woodworker with a gift for creating beautiful things with his hands. Over the years, he made much of the furniture that filled his family’s homes, leaving behind pieces that will be treasured not only for their craftsmanship, but for the love and time he put into making them. His work will continue to be a lasting part of his family’s everyday lives and memories.

In 1978, James married the love of his life, Sharon Kaleda. Together they built a family and shared many years of life side by side. Their son, James Jr., left a hole in their hearts with his passing in 2011. Sharon passed away on April 29, 2026, just months before James. Their lives were deeply intertwined, and they are now together again.

James is survived by his son, Michael; his daughter-in-law, Chrissy; and his three grandchildren, Alyvia, Cole, and Adeline, who brought him great joy and whom he loved dearly. He is also survived by his brother, Dave; sister-in-law, Virginia; and several nieces and nephews. Poppy will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his quiet strength, his craftsmanship, and the love he showed through the things he did for those around him. Though he is deeply missed, he leaves behind not only furniture and family, but a lifetime of memories and a legacy of love that will remain with his family always.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00AM Monday September 21, 2026 from Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Cemetery, Shenandoah.
