Helen M. Everett, 96, of Cornwall Manor, formerly of Frackville, passed away Wednesday in Cornwall.

Born August 1919, in Mahanoy City, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Bessie Ecker Everett.

She was a Frackville resident since 1932 and a graduate of the former Frackville High School. She attended West Chester State Teachers College.

She was a certified private music teacher of piano, voice and organ at the music studio of Margaret Dunn in Pottsville and Minersville. Helen also owned The Helen Everett Music studio in Frackville for 50 years, where she shared her love of music with more than 1,000 students during that time.

Helen was a member of First United Methodist Church, Frackville, and enjoyed the fellowship and community of the parish family. Helen was the choir director for a period of 40 years and at one time had six active choirs. She was also a Sunday school teacher, a youth group leader for 22 years and a worship chairperson for 35 years. She was in charge of the parish memorial fund and representative for the Cornwall Manor Society in the Ashbury area for the last several years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Lewis, July 3, 1999.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Frackville, with the Rev. Jonathan Hall officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Memorial Fund, 25 S. Balliet St., Frackville, PA 17931. Interment will be in the German Protestant Cemetery, Frackville. Nice-Hart Funeral Home Inc., Frackville, is in charge of arrangements.
