Gerald H."Gerry" Callaway Sr., 87, of Pottsville, died Thursday January 28, 2021, at Lehigh Valley Health Network – Cedar Crest, Allentown PA.
Born in Pottsville, May 14, 1933, He was a son of the late Harold and Caroline Beecher Callaway.
He graduated in 1952 from Pottsville Area High School then served in the US Army during the Korea War.
Gerry was the Plant Manager at the former Kaiser Aluminum Co., Port Carbon before retiring.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years Laurel Ann Kerby Callaway, son Gerald Callaway Jr. and his wife Catherine of Lake Wynonah; 2 daughters, Kimberly Callaway of Freidensburg; Kelly Runkle and her husband Mark of Lake Wynonah; 3 sisters,Grace Schuettler of Pottsville; Jeanette Rodland of Pottsville; Joyce Fidance of DE; 4 Grandchildren, Nicole, Gerald (Buddy), Tanesha, and Ryan, 2 Great-Grandchildren, Chase and Morgan, Nieces and Nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Doris Callaway
Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 AM Thursday February 4, 2021 from Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home, 110 North Second Street St. Clair, PA 17970. Pastor Ted Williams will be officiating. Friends may call from 11:00 AM – 11:30 AM Thursday at the Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Hanover Twp .
