Edward A. Wixted , 91, of 38 North Third St., St. Clair, died Friday September 27, 2013 at Pine Brook Personnel Care Center, Orwigsburg. Born in St. Clair, August 27, 1922, He was a son of the late John and Winifred (Lacey) Wixted. He graduated from Pottsville Catholic High School and served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a retired Press Operator at Aetna Steel, Pottsville, PA. He was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, St. Clair and Knights of Columbus, St. John Neumann Regional Council #14009l, St. Clair. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers Joseph and John Wixted. Surviving are his wife Mary (Quinn) Wixted 2 daughters Jane Gonzalez and her husband Richard of Schuylkill Haven; Patricia Lapinsky and her husband Dennis of New Holland 4 Grandsons Christopher and Mark Gonzalez; Eric and Michael Lapinsky; and 5 Great Grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday from St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 250 E. Hancock Street St. Clair, PA 17970. The Rev. Msgr. William F. Glosser will be officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM Tuesday at the Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Clare of Assisi Memorial Fund. Burial with military honors will be in St. Mary Star of the Sea Cemetery, Llewellyn .
