Dorothy A. Carey , 81, of Pottsville, died Wednesday at Genesis Health Care Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.
Born in Pottsville, November 14, 1934, She was a daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Pfleuger) Smith.
She retired as Nurse's Aide at the former Pottsville Hospital & Warne Clinic.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville.
She was preceded in death by her husband John W. Carey; daughter Dorothy Reightler; Great Grandson Elliot Melusky; brother Joseph Smith; sister Joan Horan.
Surviving are a son Jack Carey and his wife Christa of Pottsville; 4 Daughters, Suzanne Price and her husband David of Michigan; Debra Jefferson and her husband Kyle of Auburn; Cindy Kocher and her husband Victor of Lititz; Patricia Lowthert and her husband Craig of Port Carbon; brother Fred Smith of South Carolina; 15 Grandchildren; 20 Great Grandchildren; Nieces and Nephews.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society 101 W. Frack St. Frackville, PA 17931. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville.
