Daniel T. “Sonny” Harrison

Daniel T. "Sonny" Harrison, 70,  of Mill Creek Manor, Pottsville passed away Thursday at Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson St., Pottsville PA

He was a loving husband, father and Pap.

Born in St. Clair, April 22, 1944, He was the son of the late Robert D. and Helen (Schurr) Harrison.

He was a 1963  from St. Clair Area High School where he played three sports : baseball, basketball and football where he was in the North All Stars 1962 Dream Game.  He was a veteran of the U.S.M.C. 6th Marine, 2nd Division in the Vietnam Era.  He was a graduate of Williamsport Community College in 1971.  He was employed 31 years with Reading Company, ConRail, and Norfolk Southern Railroad, from which he retired in December 2002.

Daniel was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, St. Clair, PA, a Lifetime member of the St. Clair Fish & Game Association.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting and spending time in his garage.

Surviving are his wife of 48 years Joan (Evans) Harrison, two daughters,  Helen Ann Davie and her husband Edward, St. Clair and Claire Todak and her husband Nicholas, New Minersville, one granddaughter Lauren Ann Davie, St. Clair,  one grandson Nicholas Todak, Philadelphia, one brother Robert J. Harrison and two Nieces of St. Clair.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday from the St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 250 E. Hancock St., St. Clair with Msgr. William F. Glosser officiating.  Friends may call from 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM at the Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Clare of Assisi R.C. Memorial Fund.

Burial with military honors will be in Queen of the Universe Cemetery, Norwegian Twp.
