Born in Pottsville, Oct. 12, 1957, he was a son of the late Charles and Mary Culbert Gately.
He was a retired as a truck driver from Reading Anthracite Co.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Theresa "Teri" Gately.
Surviving are his girlfriend, Suzanne Walkusky; a daughter, Charlann Pratt, Abington, Va.; a sister, Kathleen Ciarvella, Saint Clair; four grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday from Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home, 110 N. Second St., Saint Clair, PA 17970. Friends may call from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hillside SPCA, P.O. Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home, Saint Clair, is in charge of arrangements.
