Bernard J. Wixted , 76, of 246 Mill Creek Ave., Pottsville, died Sunday at Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson St.
Born in Port Carbon, March 3, 1938, He was a son of the late James and Mary (Murrow) Wixted.
Bernard J. Wixted served in the US Army.
He retired as a crane operator from Conrail, Harrisburg
He was a member of St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church, Port Carbon, PA
In addition to his parents was preceded in death by daughter Sharon Wixted.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years Frances (Dimmerling) Wixted, 2 son James Wixted and his wife Laura of Fountain Springs; Michael Wixted of Harrisburg; daughter Marie Schuler and her husband Jeff, of Mountain Top, 2 grandchildren James and Megan Wixted; Nieces and Nephews.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 AM Monday from St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church, 218 Valley St. Port Carbon. Friends may call from 9:30-10:30 AM Monday at the Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home 110 N. Second St., Saint Clair. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hillside SPCA PO Box 233 Pottsville, PA 17901,. Burial with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
