William John Strausser

 

On Wednesday September 10th William John Strausser, of Saint Clair, passed
away quietly with his family at his side.  He was 70 years old when he
returned to his heavenly father.  
Born in Port Carbon, June 3, 1944 , He was a son of the late Kipling and
Elizabeth Ball Strausser.
He was a graduate of Nativity BVM High School.

William J. Strausser served in the US Army in the Vietnam War.
He retired in 2006. He enjoyed cooking, baking,
camping, hiking and sports. He was also an avid reader, a fan of B movies and
westerns and loved listening to Old Country music.

He was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, St. Clair, PA

He was preceded in death by 5 brothers John, Bert, Robert, Ronald and Ned; 1
sister Jane Mooney.

Surviving are his wife of 42 years Frances Heenan Strausser, at home; 3 Sons
Eric Strausser and his fiance Dr. Salma Rahimi of Astoria Queens, NY; Alan
Strausser and his wife Michelle of Port Carbon;  Michael Strausser  of
Virginia Beach, VA; 2 brothers James and David Strausser both of Port
Carbon; 5 Sisters Catherine Chiccini   Nancy Zimmerman, Beth  Runkle, Mary
Flanagan, Port Carbon, PA and Sally  Yeager, Seltzer City, PA:   , 5 Grandchildren Ashley,
Tristan, Donovan, Kierstyn and Gavin Strausser and many Nieces & Nephews.  

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 AM  Saturday, Sept 13th at St. Clare of Assisi
Roman Catholic Church, 250 E. Hancock Street St. Clair, PA 17970 with Msgr.
William F. Glosser  officiating.   Friends may call from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM
Saturday at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St.
Clare of Assisi at the above address. Burial with military
honors will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, Sept 15th, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery,
Annville.
