Rita A. Hargraves , 80, of 116 East Patterson St., St. Clair, died Tuesday April 26, 2016 at Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in St. Clair, September 10, 1935, She was a daughter of the late George and Rita (McGuire) Ball.
She was a graduate of the former St. Stephen High School.
She worked as a bookkeeper for Kings Department store and an Executive Secretary for the Former Miner's National Bank before retiring.
She was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, St. Clair, the Catholic Daughters and was an active volunteer with the St. Clair Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts.
She was preceded in death by her husband Warren Hargraves in 1962.
Surviving are son George Hargraves and his wife Brenda of Pottsville; 2 daughters Elizabeth Ryan of St. Clair; Christine McShaw and her husband Bryan of St. Clair; sister Elizabeth Raab of Beltsville, MD; 12 Grandchildren; 13 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandchild; A Niece and Nephew.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Monday from St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 250 E. Hancock St. St. Clair with. Rev. James Yeakel officiating. Friends may call from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Clare of Assisi Memorial Fund. Her final resting place will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
