Raymond P. Witcoski

Raymond P. “Doc” Witcoski, 76, of 700 Furnace St. Shenandoah, died May 11, 2016 at the Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center.

 

Born in the Lower Shaft, Shenandoah, he was the son of the late Francis and Anna (Volosky) Witcoski.

 

He was a 1958 Graduate of West Mahanoy Township High School, and a graduate of Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology in Lancaster PA (Masonry).

 

He served in the US Army in Germany, and received several badges for marksmanship. He was also a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

 

Raymond was a member of the former St. Casimir RCC now known as Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ann, and a brother Francis Witcoski, of Delaware.

 

Surviving are his son Raymond "Doug" Witcoski Jr., of Shenandoah; daughter Suzie (Witcoski) Drake and her husband Kerry Drake of Red Hill PA.; two grandsons Benjamin and Logan Drake; brothers Gerald Witcoski of Drums; Joseph Witcoski of Zion Grove; John Witcoski of Levittown; sisters Marion Pronio of Shenandoah; Antoinette Miscannon of Shenandoah Heights;  Norita Zuby of Maryland; Many nieces and nephews.

 

Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday May 17th at Nice- Hart Funeral Home, Inc, 9 North Lehigh Avenue Frackville, PA 17931 with Msgr. Ronald C. Bocian officiating.  Friends may call from 9:00-10:00 AM at the Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ruth Steinert Memorial SPCA, PO BOX 332 Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972 (www.rsmspca.org) .  Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Casimir RC Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
