Clarence  F. Polukis , 92, of 229 A Street, Girardville, died Saturday at Shenandoah Senior Living Community, Shenandoah PA

 

Born in William Penn, February 26, 1924, He was a son of the late John and Adele (Lawson) Polukis.

 

 

Clarence F. Polukis served in the US Navy during WWII.

 

He was a Heavy Equipment Operator at Several Area Coal Companies, .

 

Clarence was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Worship Center of St. Charles Borromeo Parish, Girardville,; United Mine Workers; Catawissa Boat Club; William Penn Fire Co; He loved Hunting, Fishing and woodworking.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister  Florence Kurkjian and a granddaughter Christine Polukis.

 

A loving husband and father, He is survived by wife of 65 years,  Ann (Martusky) Polukis; 2 sons Eugene Polukis and his wife Andrea of Newark, DE; Robert Polukis and his wife Kay of Frackville; daughter Michele Barowski and her husband Mark of Walnutport; 3 sisters Eleanore Jurasek of New York; Marion Plant of NJ; Joan Dondero of NJ;   3 Granddaughters Stephanie Polukis; Gina Marzouca and Alexa Barowski; Nieces and Nephews

 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday from St. Vincent dePaul Worship Center of St. Charles Borromeo Parish, 2nd Street and East Mahanoy Avenue, Girardville.   Friends may call from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association 212 East Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. Burial with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery , Annville.
