Florence Rounds

Florence A. Rounds , 84, of 118 North Line Street, Frackville, died Tuesday at home surrounded by her family.

 

Born in Gilberton, February 16, 1930, She was a daughter of the late George and Anna (Marcavage) Shidisky. 

 

She retired as a clerk having worked for Jo-Ad and K-Mart, Frackville.

 

She was a member of Annunciation BVM Parish, Frackville, where she was a member of the Annunciation choir and The Altar Rosary Society. Florence loved her family, gardening, reading and crosswords.

 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard “Murph” Rounds, in 2007, 2 brothers George Shidisky and Charles Shidisky, a son-in-law Richard LaBella.

 

Surviving are a son Larry Rounds of Frackville, 3 daughters: Kathy LaBella of Tamaqua, Patricia Kurpell and her husband Ken of Frackville, Maria Rounds of Audubon PA.   3 grandchildren Nicole Wetzel, Rachael Rounds and Larry Rounds. 6 great-grandchildren: Mackenzie, Grace, and Kaitlynn Menuchak, Chuck, Lily and Madalyn Wetzel, a sister Alice Kaliher of Frackville; nieces and nephews.

 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Friday from Annunciation Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, 7 South Broad Mt. Ave. Frackville, PA 17931 with Rev. Robert Finlan officiating. . Friends may call from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Thursday and 9:00-9:30AM Friday at Nice-Hart Funeral Home, Inc. 9 North Lehigh Ave. Frackville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Joseph Parish Memorial Fund at the above address.  Burial will be in Annunciation BVM cemetery, Englewood.

To the family of Florence "Flossie" Rounds, please accept my deepest sympathies at the passing of your dear, sweet, mother. I was so very blessed to have known, and worked with this special lady at Kmart. She was truly a classy lady. God bless and comfort you all, Barbara Polityka

I was just thinking of Flossie last week.  What a precious woman.  She will be missed.  I look forward to seeing her again on the other side.  What a wonderful family she leaves behind as her legacy.  My heart is with you all.  Blessings and His comfort to you.
